South Carolina Home Educators Association (SCHEA) has been helping families home educate since 1987. Encouraging homeschoolers on their education journey, we provide resources, assurance, and support.

We empower SC homeschoolers by maintaining visibility as we advocate for homeschooling freedoms with government leaders, influence the legislative process, and offer legislative updates. We believe that raising children is a family’s God-given right and calling, that a loving home is the best environment for children, and that homeschooling is one of the best models for educating children.

Our definition of home education is a parent-directed, home-based, privately funded education. Join SCHEA as we keep South Carolina families free, share reliable homeschooling resources, and provide encouraging events and pertinent information across the Palmetto State.
