NEW SAT FORMAT (NCAA Eligibility Center)

If a student takes the current SAT before March 2016 and then takes the redesigned SAT at a later date, the NCAA Eligibility Center will not combine section scores from the current and redesigned SAT when determining a student’s initial eligibility. The NCAA Eligibility Center will only combine section scores from the same version of the test. Because the redesigned SAT varies in design and measures different academic concepts than the current SAT, a numerical score on the current test may not be equivalent to the same numerical score on the redesigned test. Students should use recipient code 9999 when sending scores to the NCAA Eligibility Center. Additional information on changes to the SAT can be found http://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/inside-the-test

Clean Tech Competition

The Clean Tech Competition is an international research and design challenge for 15-18 year old pre-university students. This is a prestigious educational opportunity for students across the world that challenges students to be innovative while encouraging their passion for the sciences and we want to
invite the students of your school to participate in this year’s competition!   Each year, the Clean Tech Competition encourages scientific understanding
of real-world issues and the integration of environmentally responsible energy sources.  * The 2016 Challenge: “Making an Impact” http://www.cleantechcompetition.org/the-challenge/> asks students to develop a clean technology solution to the problems associate with plastics or the need for clean, cheap energy.

Columbia International Festival

For twenty years, the Columbia International Festival has entertained and educated families and students all over South Carolina. Each year, the festival begins with a special event dedicated to our state’€™s school children. We call this event GLOBAL EDUCATION DAY: Travel the World Under One Roof and it will be held on April 15, 2016. The featured continent for the 2016 Columbia International Festival will be Africa. We expect that there will be at least 75 countries from around the world that will be represented and at least 20 of them should be from the continent of Africa with their cultural exhibits, performances, and artifacts.  Over the years we have had over 300 schools join the event and we would be honored if your school would come and enjoy this unique, culturally
enriching and unparalleled educational experience for children and adults alike. Please register your school http://cifonline.org/ged-form/  online at your earliest convenience.
