If your children are young and you are looking at MANY more years of home schooling, you might think these days will never end.  For some of you with older children, these days are coming to an end much too quickly.  If you are about to become an empty-nester, SCHEA would love to put you to work!  (In a gentle way).   

Very often young mothers — or mothers with children in the tween years or mothers with special need children–have very full plates.  SCHEA is looking for home schooling mothers with experience and wisdom (from having been there, done that, worn the T-shirt) who would enjoy and be blessed by coming along side us to help them in their home school journey.  Lots of times these new home schooling mothers just need a friend, an encouraging listener, a one-on-one supporter. 

If you would be interested in doing something like that, we would love to help you put all your years of experience to a practical use.  My daughter used to tell me I’d be bored after I was done home schooling.  Well, we graduated our youngest almost 11 years ago and I still haven’t gotten bored!    I’m not a lot of help when it comes to picking out kindergarten curriculum — it’s been too many years and there has been a huge increase in the options since then.  However, I still find many opportunities to listen, encourage and empathize. 

Please let us know if you would be willing to be among the “gray heads” of the home school movement.  You could be a blessing to home schoolers across the state.
